G-d help me! I have a feeling I’m going to be getting locked out of my daughter’s bedroom any day now.  Here’s why:

  1. Oh boy! It’s so exciting when little ones figure out something new…except when they use it against you! I love your slice today! Thanks for sharing.

  2. We have Joel’s door handle switched so that the lock is on the hallway side, now you know why! The good news is that the do outgrow this stage, like all others.

  3. Oh no, I know there is some purpose is being able to lock doors inside your house, but I can’t think of one right now. I hope she understands the danger. We would always keep a bobby pin handy to press in the hole. I’m not sure if door handles are still made with this somewhat of a safety feature.
    I enjoyed hearing your voices.

    1. I think dimes will do the truck to “pick the lock” if she locks us out. (I remember bobby pins were the way to go when I was younger. Our door knobs are built a but differently.)

  4. I loved being able to hear the interactions between the two of you. Your intentional language really stands out. I noticed that what you were saying now about physically not locking people in/out in your home links back to the overall concept of open lines of communication throughout different phases in life.

  5. oh boy, that’s scary! I love to listen to the way you talk to her; your language is so careful, patient, and kind. I admire how you always stay calm, even in a situation like this! I already knew what a great teacher (and mom) you are, but these audio snippets show it even more.

I'd love to hear from you! Please leave a comment below.
